Jiajing Lotus Pond Bowl - Ming Chinese Porcelain

A Ming Jiajing bowl of deep rounded sides painted with a lotus pond scene with 2 birds on either side. This style of painting of cobalt outline with shaded wash filled in was typical of the Jiajing period. Sotheby's sold a similar bowl of almost exact form with a slightly different painted bird scene (Check Similar Example photo).

Width = 16cm / 6.2 inches

Height = 8cm / 3 inches

Condition = Has one chip on one side of the the outside rim.
